2G Difference between 1674T ecm / ecu and 1672B

What’s up fellas I bought my 99 gst about 3 years ago and the guy sold it to me with 2 other working ECUs / ECMs. They are both slightly different and I’m just trying to figure out why he had them and what the differences are between the 1674T and the 1672B. I’ve looked around the internet and found nothing on it. Getting ready for a DSM link. Thanks guys anything helps

I’m aware it doesn’t have eprom, just wondering if these came in different years of DSMs or what they deal is. I’m running a black box ecu currently.

As far as I know 97 up were not eprom. Regardless with dsmlink the unit can be used whether 2ga or 2gb. Is that what yiu needed to know?

And as for the 1672B, it's not "B". It's "E", an EPROM ECU. But obviously there is a massive leak from a capacitor. That one would probably need to be repaired. You should send it to ECMTuning to inspect and repair.

I’m rather just trying to get to the bottom of why the previous owner had multiple ECUs and which it originally came with.

Well why don't you just ask the previous owner, he is the only person who knows why. But obviously the eprom one doesn't work without repair. I guess he was keeping those as spare, like I have exactly the same 3 ECUs for my 2g.

If it was that simple I wouldn’t have posted it on a thread. I’m not in contact with him anymore.

Many people have multiple ECUs as spare, some people throw it in the car when the car is sold. And as you said your car is 99, so the black box that you are running is probably the one that originally came with.

What? The 1672 is an early 95 EPROM ECU MD312464. The 1674 is the later 95 FWD non-EPROM ECU MD309947. It looks like it's been sitting in a puddle.
