Did your EVOIII stop creeping as much after FMIC install?

I use to creep to 20psi on my EVOIII turbo. Now after my Hahn FMIC it only creeps to 15-16psi and it doesn't creep as fast.

Also at the same time of install my friend kinked my BOV return line which might have surge damaged the turbo.

So I'm not sure why it's not creeping, rather its the FMIC or something else like a bad turbo or boost leak I can't find.

I used a Johnny Racer Front mount with custom piping and my small 16g quit creeping to 18 psi with my stock sidemount. Now I can set to 10 if I want to. Maybe it is a leak cause I haven't had a chance to test yet or "maybe" the intercooler is just that much restrictive than my sidemount. Just a guess on the latter explanation. Otherwise it works cause I can run 18 psi all day without knocking (and I mean back to back).

My guess is the air is more dense taking up less room hense less psi..?

keep in mind boost creep has to do with the EXHAUST side of the turbo, not the intake side...

Well if I shut my greedy ebc off it creeps from 10-15 or 16.

Before with the stock SMIC it creeped from 10-20psi with the boost source connected directly to the wastegate acuator.

the reason is because of the volume of air the FMIC can hold. its all about the pressure drop.

Did you perform a real boost leak test when looking for leaks or just a visual inspection?

Colder air would result in less creep cause it does take up less space. But yeah. It's the wastegates inability to let out enough exhaust gas that causes creep. Just less noticable after you install a hugh FMIC. At high engine speeds 7K+ you will start to see it creep agian though if you haven't corrected the exhaust problem. I went to a 44mm Tial. Haven't installed it yet as I'm waiting for a T4 turbine housing and a DNP mainifold.

Do a boost leak check to be certain. When I installed my FMIC on my evoIII the boost creep didnt change, and I didn't have any leaks. I did/do however have an incredibly free flowing exhaust.

Never had a problem with creep, except for the winter I would creep a few lbs running low boost levels (16 psi) on stock smic
