I have a evo 3 16g that im running at 20psi right now on a stock exhaust. It doesn't creep. I did have a 3' turboback exhaust before i had my fuel mods that i got rid of because of the excessive amount of boost creep.

does anyone know at what psi does the evo3 stop creeping?

Turbo is obviously unported.

It would stop creeping once it blows. The problem is since the exhaust system is very free-flowing the turbo can't stop building boost and will conitnue to do so. The only to prevent this would be to port your turbine inlet and wastegate passage and port your o2 housing as well to allow boost to exit the wastegate much easier, or you can opt for an externally dumped o2 housing if you wish, and assuming you don't mind the loudness.

Not true mine creeped from 21 psi to around 24psi. Only way to stop it is like stated, port the housing out. I had my evoIII ported but ended up selling it before I got the chance to use it :ohdamn:

When ported properly we are able to get them to hold about 11 psi all the way to 7k.

It'll stop even easier if you buy an ext. wastegate.

The turbo CAN be ported to resolve the issue, but then you'll run into holding high boost if you eventually go that route.

I think this is getting a bit off topic? Question is what psi does the creep stop.

It all dpends wether your turbo or o2 housing is ported. Could be low-mid 20's. Determining factors always play a big role.

Well I know it was still creeping on oem exhaust side @ 24 psi, by that point its pushing the turbo out of efficiency in the upper 20's. Wouldn't you want to STOP the creep and not be bothered with it at any amount of pressure?

I've had evo3's on stock exhaust that havent creeped after porting but didnt hold high boost but an unported evo3 w/ a turboback with a high rpm stab or a slow roll onto throttle will creep the entire way to 30psi.

Just for refrence, I just helped a friend port his exhaust housing and o2 housing on his evo3 and he took it off, ported them (did a good job too), and installed themb ack on his car in under 4 hours. Before he did this, he would creep from 14psi all the way to 20+psi. Afterwards, the boost holds rock solid.

Not bad for 4 hours of work and 20 bucks for a porting bit.

My S16G will creep to 25psi if I'm trying to keep the boost low. So, I just bought the mods necessary to run 25psi all day long.

Amen, I did the same thing when my 2g was creeping on my small 16g, but it wasn't creeping that bad LOL. Most say thats no the right way to battle it, but eh.

My evo III 16g creeps to about 22psi. I has been extensively ported, but still continues to creep. I am now going to go with an external wastegate, then the problem will be fixed.

My EVOIII 16g slowly creeps from 15 psi to 20 psi. Well ported 2g 02 housing, 2.5" downpipe/testpipe/3" catback. Unclipped wheel, ported turbine inlet, unported wastegate. I'd reckon if I wanted to I could drop that down abit just by porting the wastegate orifice, but I value holding boost over keeping the boost levels low.

My V.E. is so good that the motor just sucks all the boost right out of the turbo, happened when I went to cams. After that point I could never hold as much boost. Thats one way to get rid of creep:D

My old EVOIII creaped to 27psi @ 5000rpm most of the time. But, usually fell back off to 21 or so by 6500. This was on a full 3" exhaust, evoIII o2, and no exhaust side porting.

One thing I did notice. My creap was much more managable when I had my EBC set for higher boost. If I set for 21psi, it would hold better and creap less than 16psi. MyEBC is a AVCR, so its adjustibility helped me to tune most of the creap out of it on my high boost setup. The low boost setup had no hope though.

I have a heavily ported turbo and 3" tubular O2 and 3" turbo back and mine hits 24psi then comes back to around 20psi

All being controlled with my AEM EMS

I'd love to get my EVOIII 16g to creep some more.

No doubt. I cannot hold more than about 22psi after I put in the cams and FMIC.

Get the supporting mods to run a decent amount of boost. I don't see the reason to get a 16G over a 14B if you're not going to BOOST. My car feels slow to me at 17psi (what it creeps up to), but feels pretty decent above 20psi.
