I just wanted to know if i can trick the ECU into think my EGR is working so i wont get the CODE since i have the EGR block off plates. and for the evap well i took it off so i just want to know if i can trick it as well so i wont get the code also? can it be done?

what about the EVAP can i trick the ecu into reading it differently so it wont give me a code?

Isn't the EVAP was the one that was caused by the leaking gas caps :D

i think it is but like i said i took of my EVAP and i want to get rid of the code since i have a evap code so anyone know how???

You are realizing, arent you, that you are in the 420a forums? Anyway, I have tried fixing things for my EVAP to no success. My CEL was on before I modded anything and is still on and will ALWAYS be on unless I decide to take out the bulb :p Its probably pissed at my EGR too but thats because its not there either so oh well.

Others have tried to fix it replacing their entire EVAP system also to no success, so I decided not to do that.

The ECU checks for the presence of the operating coil on the evap and egr solenoids, and that their values are within spec. If they're gone, you'll get a CEL. I don't know what resistance they're looking for to tell the ECU everything's okay.

underneath the battery tray is the charcoal canister correct? is this really needed for a pefomance type application? im building my car for drag racing and would like to take out all the uneeded garbage under the hood. any help will be greatly appreciated!

-thanks

Yes it is a charcoal canister which drawed in vapors from the gas tank and fuel system and burn it up while driving. That shouldn't after performance so there's no need for it, but it hardly weigh anything.

very true but if i go with the battery relocation in the summer i will not have the battery nor the tray there just that canisterr so remove that to and that coner of the motor clear. plus i could hide those vaccum line coming off and going to the cnaister. you think it would be okay to just plug those vaccum lines that come off of the canister? or what would be best to do with them?

-thanks again for your help!
