1G defi racer gauges wiring problems

Ok I am completely baffled to what's going on. I have 3 defi racer series gauges that all worked perfectly when I pulled them out of my galant. I installed them in my talon and now I can't get any of them to turn on.
I have the 12v power coming from a 10 amp pigtail fuse.
The 12v ignition power from another 10amp pigtail fuse.
The illumination going to the green wire on the dimmer switch and then the ground.
The harness going into the gauge is getting power at each terminal and there is no resistance in the ground.
Yet still none of them will work. I can't see how every gauge would of broke just from being removed.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I am stumped!

Double check and make sure you didnt knock a ground loose when you removed it. I did the same thing when I changed one of my gauges to a different location.

Have you tried powering the gauges straight from the 12V battery to make sure they still work?

Yes they all work when powered by the battery. Only thing I can think of is maybe the illumination wire won't work on the dimmer switch?

That was where I was going with it.The 2G(and I think 1G as well) operates its dimmer with 12V supply and variable ground, instead of a variable voltage to ground. So the gauge dimmers don't always work right. And if you tied the gauge grounds to the dimmer -, you could be causing issues.

I ran into this with my Greddy gauges years ago. The siple solution is to not use the dimmer. The more complex fix depends on how the gauges are wired internally.

The dimmer switches are notorious for failing. I forgot I even had one because it hasn't worked in so long. Definitely try to find a different source to narrow down the problem.

Yes that is correct. The dsm dimmer controls the connection between the instrument lights and ground (+12v goes directly to the other side of the lights). However your gauges, like many, probably expect illumination by varying the 12v to the bulbs - so the two are incompatible. You can either not use the dimmer or rewire the illumination inside the gauge.
