2G awd AT. My builder used a press and split the stock passenger side tranny mount.
I could get it welded i suppose but i imagine i'd be spending even more time cleaning up the inside so the poly mount fits properly. So i searched and found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEA-A6698-Transmission-Mount-EAGLE-MITSUBISHI-/291454734131

STM sells a OEM mount as well. Price isn't too big a concern and STM would only be like 45 bucks more. Honestly? At this point, having passed 30,000 on this build i'm kind of leaning towards the OEM one vs welding it

I found no reviews from any dsm sites on the DEA brand mounts.

Suggestions? 4 months now....... man, i kind of want an eclipse and the builder is a high strung, angry dude but his work is just amazing. He's ready to have his tiny garage back so i get why he's angry but getting dsm parts isn't like it used to be. Money doesn't solve every problem now days. I can't blame him but it's been a LONG time since i've had someone talk down to me hahahaha.....he's losing it, i swear!

So? Weld it,DEA, or OEM?

How's the rest of the mount look? If you can weld good and get the fit perfect for the poly mount then it should be ok. Did you look on Rockauto seems they have them cheap as well. As long as the replacement fits the poly insert and matches oem mounting points, you should be just fine bro. Also it's easier to cut out the oem insert than pressing them, atleast for the big ones. I just take a sawzaw and make 2 cuts thru the inner metal ring and they fall right out :) just make sure you go slow so you don't cut into the outer metal.

Correct. I checked rockauto and they sell only the DEA brand for the 2gB AT tranny mount. Yes, when i put the poly inserts into my MT mount i did not use a damn press LOL.....
That's entirely overkill. I did exactly the same and used a sawzall to remove stock rubber and metal ring. Very light coat of lube and you can hand press the poly inserts in no prob.
The break is clean and across the top of the mount. But cost wise it may cost 3 times as much as a brand new DEA brand just to have it welded.
I don't have a TIG yet, waiting for this project to complete so i can take up welding as a hobby and learn it. I must hire a welder to do the modification to the IC pipes to clear the AT(it's a PR kit), builder says i need to extend the TB elbow too(???), first i've heard of that being necessary for an AT, lastly i need the IAT bung installed on the elbow.
I have a feeling even though this is pretty easy and quick work i will end up overpaying haha, never fails bro!

Thank you bud, i appreciate the feedback.

** Oh, i just noticed your pic. Yea i saw that but wasn't sure if the other brands were the tranny mounts or not. They look a little different. I need to look again.

I say just get a replacement instead of having the headache of fixing the old one.

Yup. I checked some reviews and just visually the DEA looks like shit. The beck arnley is a top notch, OEM quality part. Oreilly/Advance don't sell em anymore so i just ordered on on ebay.
Not bad, $45.
Oreilly COULD get it but the earliest would be like 7 business days and the total price, because it's special mfr direct order, would be ~85 after taxes. Ebay will get it to me by thursday.
I'm gonna do it the ol fashioned way like i did the last time. The builder i hired for this project is exceptional but you gotta be super careful using a huge press on cast aluminum. It's just a bad idea.
I think he broke it actually trying to press out the original rubber/metal insert. That would explain it. Like you said, just take your time and cut gently and the ring will pop right out.

No biggie. Oh, and thanks for reposting that rockauto. Sure enough i looked again and nothing was amiss, they are all 2g,AT tranny mounts. Glad i saw the beck arnley. It looks even more sturdy in its casting than pics of the OEM one.
