Well, here I am again. Back with a DSM
This time a 2G 96 GSX
Sold the 3kGT VR4 for it.
Problem is, I'm new to the 2G and forced induction in general (expect lots of questions
). Last DSM I had was a 92 GS.
So. here goes my first questions:
I have the opportunity to get my hands on a Palm M125. I want to hook something up so I can datalog and tune the car. I've googled and I've searched the forum here, but can't seem to come up with an answer to really help. So far, I know it can be done with the M125. I know there are a lot of log softwares out there to do it with. I'm looking into either MMCd, OBDGauge, Pocketlogger (although from what I see it is discontinued), and PDA Dyno. Which would you guys recommend out of these? I'm leaning towards the first two (since they are free). And where can I get a cable that is compatible with the M125?
Second question: 1G wheels will fit a 2G, correct? My 2G rounded 5 spokes have cracks in the spokes near the center of the wheel, and I need to replace them. Found a set of Borbet 16x6.5 rims in almost perfect condition (AFAIK they are Type "O" 3 spoke) that came off a 91 GSX. Will they work?
Third, would it be safe to run Mobil 1 full synthetic in the car? Motor was replace and has about 50k on it, documented (due for timing belt soon I assume). Doesn't smoke or leak anything from what I see (outside of the valve cover gasket which I intend on fixing next week).
And finally, what is the max that I can raise my boost to on a 96 GSX with minor mods (K&N, etc)?
