Custom exhaust muffler question

I'll be making a custom 3" exhaust but i don't know which muffler I should go with.

I was thinking about the 12198 magnaflow muffler but would a single 4" outlet muffler increase the performance and turbo spool?

Which other mufflers have a nice deep tone?

As long as the tip is of a reasonable size, it's not going to affect the performance. That muffler will be fine. The 3" pipes all the way through is going to make a lot more difference than pretty much any muffler.

I've got a 3" full system with a flowmaster at the back... 3" in and dual 2.5" out. The velocity at idle all the way up to cruise is soo low that there's hardly any noise cancellation going on. I have no resonator as well.
Droning and deafening, but at least it sounds good under boost.

I had this setup w/a 3" vibrant exhaust- looked AWESOME and sounded so much better then the apexi n1 piece of shit that was on there before. There is a vibrant 3" in and 3" out that is 99 shipped and is flat black (there is also a non black one).

the black twin tips look awesome, i think i will be getting that one when i upgrade my exhaust system.

I used the Magnaflow 3" in dual 3" out and I believe it was an 18" muffler. With a highflow cat and 2 resonators, it was still loud. I heard the Vibrant muffler equivalent is a bit quieter.

So what are you looking for exactly in terms of help?

I'm in the same boat right now as well, I'm in CA and I want to run catless and was thinking about just doing full 3" with a magnaflow muffler 3" in and 3" out and then run a tip to look stockish but I'm worried about how loud it will be as well. Some people say straight 3" catless piping with only a muffler is loud and some say it isn't so you really never know..
