I used piping from an extra air intake I had laying around and attached it to my Injen intake. I had to cut a hole so the piping could go down to the front bumper area, and then I attached the air filter & MAF, the plug in connector just barely reached. I actually bolted the air filter to the MAF housing cause I did NOT trust those snap clips to hold it on while driving. I'm still a little worried about when it rains, I think I wanna make a splash guard for it.

Based on that picture, it does not look like the filter is in a great location, it looks like the foglight is blocking most of the air..Pretty clean none the less.

Looks nice. The air should be so much cooler under there. You may want to make a short ram intake for those rainy days and keep it in your car just in case.

The foglights are staying :p so that's pretty much as good as it's gonna get.

You can get an air bypass valve just in case it goes underwater or etc.

Who sells one, and how much do they typically cost?

I was considering that, kind of a pain though if your on the highway and you gotta pull over to the side of the road, LOL.

What do you guys think of my idea for a splash guard though ?

If you go through to deep of water then thats going to act like a vacuum. I think aem sells the by pass valve. Better safe than sorry IMO. I've seen a hydrolocked engine and it wasnt pretty.

You can also get an outwerware for the filter. I run them on my quads and they repel water very well. You can run water out of the faucet on them and it just bounces off.

hopefully water does destroy your maf. looks good though. I would do somethingto avoid contact with water. Had the same setup in my cavalier But didn't have a maf and it suck so bad when driving in the rain.

That sounds great (and the easiest solution) where can I get one that would fit my air filter?

LOL I was wondering that myself

Well Im not 100% sure for these filters. My Raptors filter is as big as my trucks(5.7 Hemi) so they do come in big sizes. Check google for a vendor, or go to tqsatv.com and call Steve, he is a really good guy and could point you in the right direction. Heres the main website Outerwears, Inc. - Original manufacturer of Pre-Filters & Shockwears

I am so buying one of these, I can just slip it on when it rains, easy as pie :D I probably could even go underwater if I wanted to and drive along side some fish, no worries :)

Yah they work very well, when I get some I will take a picture running water over mine seeing as I need to clean it anyway. They arent super cheap but it gives you piece of mind. Just put it on and leave it, you wont notice it on there. They arent restrictive at all.

Cool, I'll check 'em when you post 'em, thanks. I just looked at some on eBay and I can get one shipped for about $20. In the mean time I just hope it doesn't rain hard :|
