custom cold air intake

hi i have a 1998 n/t eclipse and i am trying to buy a cold air intake but i do not want to buy one from e-bay because i want it to fit my car without spending 200 dollars so my question is? has any one but a air intake from e-bay and if so do you have pictures of it... also i am thinking of doing a custon intake so i was also wondering who has tried to make a custom air intake for your 97-99 eclipse could you please post pictures to help me out or if there are any web sites with info about this i would realy appreaciate it.. thanks alot steve

I bought a cold air intake from ebay but I did end up paying 200 dollars for it. Many people just buy one of those cheap cai listed on ebay and just swap out the sh!tty filter that comes with it and put in a K&N filter. Thats probably the best route to go to save money.

I had to custom build one for my NT Spyder since nobody at all makes an intake for them in the first place.I ordered one off ebay that said it would fit but of course it was for the 2000+ spyder and the bends are all reversed.I simply cut,and re-coupled the tubing with couplers and clamps and this allowed me a bit of flexibility on mounting it.I ended up getting the filter right behind the air intake by the foglight on the passenger side and it made a noticeable difference.I have a few pics if you want them but I'm at work right now and can't get to them.

Sure they do, where were you looking? I have bought a cold air intake from matrix and it was a perfect fit. Now i have a turbo setup though so no need for the old intake. Its long gone now.
