I was under the car just a few minutes ago and found this crack on the trans. Those bolt's you see hold the slave on and the crack is at the arm to the engine mount bracket. The crack go's from the bottom of the 2nd bolt and where the shadow starts in the 2nd pic. There's no fluid leaking (yet). I was thinking about welding it up as it doesnt look to bad or should I try the JB WELD way. Maybe from wheel hoping every now and then. Last time I drove it it shifted find. Any thoughts of how bad this is or just a quick weld and be done?
Thanks AJ

Don't JB weld it! Have it welded up for real. There is alot of pressure on that slave cylinder from the pressure plate.

Dont drive it at all till you fix that, just to be safe rather than sorry.

Sell your Profec B and buy a used transmission. Just throw in a MBC for now. That sucks man! Although, if you were to weld the outer part it should get you by until you can scrape up some funds. Just don't do any hard driving.

Any idea how youg got that? do you go around burning out a lot? doing a lot of wheel hop? just curious... That sucks though.

Bellhousing bolts coming loose or a missing bolt from the back of the bellhousing usually cause this, the Tranny is then able to pivot on the bolt that is still tight, breaking the ear off. The stress coming from the clutch, the bellhousing then flexes everytime the clutch is pressed.

Is the small 8mm thread size (12mm wrench) bolt in the back of the bellhousing above the transfer case? A lot of folks miss putting that one back in. It actually slides through a 10mm threaded hole in the block, and into the tranny. If that one is missing, there is nothing holding the bellhousing on in the back, and allowing the bellhousing to flex ever-so-slightly and causing the bolts to loosen and /or crack from flexing.
