Success!!!! Alright then, I will get this going. Thanks guys for the help with getting the images sized. I finished getting the car put back together last night, but I forgot to put my battery on the charger. I will try to start it tonight and see how the setup works.

Thanks, I have been trying to clean things up a little while I have been working on it. But that cop setup has definitely improved the appearance of the engine bay! I love jmfab LOL.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you all know that I finally remembered to charge my battery. So tonight I was able to start to car for the first time since December. Suprisingly it fired right up. I let it run for about ten minutes to make sure there were no misfires or any other noticable issues as for as the cop setup was concerned. Everthing seems to be in working order. I just wanted to test it out before I posted an article telling others how to do it LOL. I will try to get the article up this weekend.
Justin

I have the article ready to post. I ran into a problem when I trying to post it though. I can only post 10 pics, but I have quite a few more than that. I sent a pm to ludacris to find out if there was a way around that, but I haven't heard back yet. As soon as I find out, I will have it up.

Hey guys,
I finally got the article finished. It is in the electrical and wiring section. There are two parts. Let me know what you think

Did you get an MSD box or anything? Or is it running just fine without it? Didn't see ya mention anything about it in your article.

I am not using an ignition amp at this time. I am still in the process of tuning the car, but it is holding 20psi without any missfires. I plan on running 28psi for the final tune, so I will see how it holds up there. I have had some issues with the car breaking up around 6.5k, but I am running extremely rich (9.6:1). Once I get the top end tuned and leaned out I suspect I will not have that problem. I also am running a .026" spark plug gap. I lot of people have to use .022" to get their cop setup to work. The only reason I gapped them smaller was because the first time I drove it after the cop install, I had really bad missfires. So I gapped them smaller only to remember that I forgot to check the invert cas option in dsmlink.ROFL Once I did that, the missfires were gone. I have just been too lazy to regap them to .028".

Ok guys now ive been looking all over and can not finda definite way to rewire my cop setup for my 95 ecu with dsmlink. i know there are different firing orders so it has to be somewhat different because dsmlink tells you you have to swap plug wires. i did my best and rolled some smoke out of my hood and now i think i blew a coil.

ok ## 100 percent sure this is for a 95 firing order? i imagine ## correct since i see your driving a 95 . hey lincoln nebraska huh? my cousin lives there he's got a 98 thats landrover grey. u know him?

^ you beat me to it.

let me know if you have any questions on what wires to swap.

Justin

so i have to swap wires? what connections will be different? if you could whip me up a wire diagram that is exactly to my situation thatd help me emensly. [email protected]

For the 6 bolt with a 95 ecu and dsmlink, you will need to switch the blue wire with the blue w/ black stripe wire. Then you select the invert cas option in dsmlink.
.... at least that is how I did mine and it works problem free. I have made serveral pulls at 16 psi with no issues and the plugs are still gapped at .028".

Thanks, I think that's how I did mine. Crap, I'll have to go check, it seems to run fine though.LOL Except for high boost. :coy:

Well mine has actually help fine at 22 psi. That was accidental though. It was my first retune pull and I had backed my mbc all the way out. I was expecting ~15psi but it ended up being 22-23. The good news is there were no misses at that boost. I will be putting the mbc back on tomorrow to work on the higher boost tune. I plan on 27-28 psi in the end. I will be updating my write up with the results after I finish tuning.

I was running 33ish psi on a 3052 and it won't keep up with that. Just an FYI ;) Plugs were also gap'd down to .022. I'm throwin a Arc-2 on and hopefully should take care of the problem.

ha I am no expert if you were directing that at me. I just was able to make this work pretty well. You dont need a colder or hotter plug... just use what is appropriate for your boost level. Most likely that will be bpr7es. Start the gap at .028", and go smaller if you are having missfires under boost.

gsxtacy,
Oh well at 30+ psi I do not doubt the cop was missfiring. I have not seen one handle that much boost with out an ignition amp of some sort. I am anxious to see if mine will take the 28 psi. I will be very pleased if it does, but I have my doubts. If I have to get an arc2 I will add the install of that to the tech article. BTW, how do you like that 3052? I will be at the far edge of my 50trim at 28psi but I may want to go a little bigger before I build a stronger motor. I was looking at it as a possibility.

haha ok so now im on like my sixth rewire haha i had it all wired up according to your thread and then i got to the last picture and realized that you counted the coils from right to left instead of left to right. damn it but im golden now. might wanna label the coils in the beginnin of the post or make a note that theyre labeled right to left to save electronically illeterate ppl like me

If your looking for a quick spooling turbo, that has potential for 10's... I love the 3052! I can spool 20psi by 3700rpm, and 30 by around 4200. It is very fun street friendly turbo that will put a smile on your face. However it isn't a huge step up from a 50 trim. Anyway I'll keep you updated on how the Arc-2 does on the COP setup at that boost level, I have no doubt it will work fine.

Ha sorry about that. I will try to label the coils in one of the pictures so that wont happen to others. But it is working now?

gsxtacy,
Thanks for the info. I was only looking for a slight upgrade from the 50 trim as I am still on 1g rods. But I would like to hit deep 11s or high 10s before a rebuild.

well acftually another coil blew out today. i think it was already fubared from the previous wiring. right after the first coil blew i felt all the coils and the two outside ones were hot and the two middle were still faily cool. so i think the other coil was messed up on the inside. i will double check my wiring again so that i dont blow out my brand new coils when they get here on wedensday but yeah i was on a hunt all day. my cop kit came with coils so i never really new what they were out of but when i got one from napa for a 99 intrepid it had a different bracket found out its outof a 2002 im off and running now though well at least i will be on wedensday:thumb:
