so i tore my talon apart to fix a leaking oil pan gasket, before i tore it apart i had idle surge until the car was warm then it ran fine, flex pipe on stock exhaust was bad. after tearing it apart to replace oil pan gasket i put 2.5" exhaust no cat. when i started it now it is running rough, not surging anymore. sounds like its running on 3 cylinders and exhaust is whiteish and smells rich. would not having a cat do this?

i also noticed coolent dripping off the transfer case, ive tried looking to see where it is coming from but cannot seem to find the source of the leak. granted i havnt taken off the intake mani to get a really good look but im starting to run out of idea's. going to re-look everything over again in the morning. the leak isnt terrable a few drops. any idea's of what i should be looking for would be great. thanks in advance

There is a couple rubber 3/8" hoses underneath the throttle body near the ISC motor that may be leaking, a flashlight would show them easily. When it happened to me, it was leaking in the very same spot. Check out replacing with some good silicone heater hose. Should last quite a while longer than rubber but it's a tad more expensive.

awesome im hopeing thats what it is, motor was just rebuilt not to long ago i was worried it might have been the head gasket.

i am going to once i figure out what exactly is making the car run rough. ive searched and read a bunch of other threads where people have had the exact same issue (as far as how it sounds, running rich and rough idle, bogs down and dies) but none of them updated their thread so idk if they fixed it or how they fixed it.
