Hey -

I have an electric Autometer coolant temperature gauge I just hooked up yesterday, but I wasnt sure which wire I needed to tap into, so I just picked one and tried it out, It read the temp. correctly so I just left it, but now when the car runs for about a minute, the Check Engine light comes on, and my Datalogger says the coolant temp. sensor is throwing the code, did I tap the wrong wire to cause this? anyone done this before and can describe which wire/sensor is right to connect to?

Also, I just hooked up my datalogger and its reading the coolant temp to be a steady -59 degreese celcius.. :p Anyone?

Going to bump this thread with some new info:

Seeing as the temperatures here on the east coast have dropped, the car does not start now because of this. I can only think that the fact that the ECU is reading the temp to be so cold its just flooding the engine and its just added up all this time and all my attempts to start it have drained the battery .. 2x :p So again, does anyone know which sensor on the thermostat housing is for the ECU and which is for the gauge cluster? I have tapped both seperate times for the gauge so i dont know which one is crapped out to replace it. :p
