Hey guys I am going to the junkyard tomorrow.

So hopefully someone can answer this before tomorrow morning.

Ok I am going to the yard to pull some 2GA fog lights if they're still there....

Why am I getting these parts? I am doing several conversions to my RS to make it have the few things that were not given to it. ** fog lights, rear wiper, rear brakes etc...

and here are my questions.

1. Where is the Rear Wiper Harness located? How Do I remove it? ( I won't be going alone, so I will have help removing the hatch if needed and what not. )

2. Is it hard or worth taking out the fog lights harness?

I have seen a guide on here that doesn't really require the harness to make the fogs work, but I am wondering how difficult and how do I remove the fog lights harness?

Shouldn't be hard to remove either harness. The fog lights are wired into the front chassis harness which connects into the fuse box. As for the rear wiper harness, you'll have to remove it from the hatch, but you'll also be taking the rear chassis harness (for the tail lights) and pulling it from the fuse box area under the dash. This harness runs along the driver side floor rails. It also holds the connections for the rear speakers (both sides) and any factory alarm system. It also connects to grounding points (if I remember right) under the driver seat. I'd pull the entire harness, no splicing later. Use the old harness for spare, factory colored wires. I got 2 5-gallon buckets full of various harness sections. Some for spare wire, others for replacement of whole sections.

Thank you for the reply and all the information!

Holy cow... I would of have never expected all of that work! I'll deal with it :p

So you're saying I am going to have to tear apart half the driver side area to reach the rear wiper harness? I really do appreciate all this information.

For the fogs it should all be in one little area?

More like all of it.... ROFL LOL

Yes, should be. Forgot to notice you have a N/T, my experiences with the fog lights have been on the turbo models. However, and sorry to break a rule by saying this, I imagine it should be the same basic set up, just flipped, since your fuse box is on the opposite side of the engine bay as mine. I'd bet on it being that way.

Don't let the amount of work discourage you though. It's really not that bad of a removal. it's all removing panels, screws, and unclipping the harness. That's it. And making sure you don't rip a wire/ connector as you're pulling the harness through tight areas.

First off since it is the yard I won't mind tearing up all of the driver side! ROFL LOL :hellyeah: hahaha... But I wil be extremely careful when I do the conversion to my RS.

Secondly Yeah I am rocking a 95 RS trying to restore it into a GS type with a High Rise and minus the sun/moon/roof and power to windows/mirrors/keyless entry

It's my First car/DSM and I love her LOL... :D

Time doesn't really matter as long as I get it done right, the DSM way!

No worries. My first DSM was a '96 Talon ESi. Loved that car all the way til the day she was f@#%ing stolen from me. Even after I bought my first turbo DSM (1st '97 Spyder) and I went to Korea for a year without them, I missed my Talon more.

I was worried about my ride being stolen after I got it so went to walmart and got a steering wheel lock. A few months later I installed a Viper Killswitch alarm. I'm "loaded" at my house. If I hear my alarm go off, I don't go out alone. :|

Are you in the service or business reason you went over?

Looking forward to the day I get a GSX/GST/TSI , I'm looking into doing a 2GB Talon coversion, but the car at the yard was sold as whole before I could pick the 2gb bumper...

Hey dude, I was just browsing Craig'sList for parts I need, and found someone selling a hatch with wiper. Made me think, Don't forget to grab the rear sprayer nozzle, washer fluid tank (in trunk), and all the lines that go with it.

For the fog lights it might be easier to just wire them up to a toggle switch. On the RS there is a blank spot on the dash to the left of the steering wheel where the power mirrors control would normally go. You can pop out the little plastic plate and mount the switch there. I did that with some lights that I installed on the interior of my 98 RS back in the day. Worked great and looked OEM.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm going to wait on the plumping for the rear wiper, my funds are not that good ATM. Also for the switch part, that's a good idea.

Ok So I am wondering if there could be a single wire for the Rear wiper instead of getting all of those harnesses?

you pretty much need it all unless you like wiring electrical which is harder to do imo then just getting the whole harness. also if you look up miller import on this site under vendors he has everything you could ask for bumpers, any harness ect... and he is really reasonable on the prices. just picked up 2gb front and rear bumpers for $250. that would save you a headache as far as the harness and everything else. he has rear break conversion for $150. something you should check out so you dont miss parts and what not.

Yeah I saw talked to him several times before, but some parts are out of my budget. I respect them and their price, but I would go broke if I always bought arts of them ROFL .

Might have to go to the yard again and yank it my self /:

Thanks for the input!

Also I was wondering if there was a wire to just connect it to the rear wiper, the fuse box? while leaving my current harness's on with out touching them? or would that be impossible?

Alright then, I will go to the yard and see how it is to remove it from there and see how it goes when I do the conversion!

All your info was much much appreciated!

The rear wiper motor has three wires running to it. One goes straight back to the junction block, the other two to the rear wiper and washer switch.

Assuming that the connector for the switch is in place, then yes, only a single wire need be run. If not, the switch itself has five wires additional running to it for a total of 7: one for the junction block, one for the washer tank motor, one for a jumper connector and two for illumination.

**This is from a '98 FSM and may or may not translate perfectly to a '95.
