Ok, im having problems testing my coil pack. 2g dsm. Mainly with my primary resistance. It wont hold a steady reading. It'll go from 0.25 then to 0.00 and stay there. I do know that it suppose to be from 0.77 to 0.95. Im not sure if i should have the car switched to the on position or what. My secondary readings at the coils are 13.8 and 14.1. Im askin this, could my secondary resistance test out perfect even if my primary dosnt. My car is flooding itself out due to a weak spark on 3 cylinders. Could be my wires, but i started testing my coils and became curious on this. Need some advice

Come on guys need some help!!

You never want to have any power present when checking resistance on anything.:nono: If you're sure you are getting a good connection and it's showing no resistance, that would mean you have an open primary. But again, when checking resistance make sure there is no power and unplug any power and connectors etc.;)

If you are doing a resistance test on your coil pack, it should already be unplugged. Having the car on will not affect your readings as it's not plugged in, resistance testing should always be done with the component unplugged. It should give you a pretty constant reading, make sure your leads to your meter are okay, test them with each other and see what the reading is and see if that static reading changes..that could account for why the readings are changing when you're testing the primary circuit. Yes your secondary circuit can read okay but with a bad/open primary. They are two different circuits, each with it's own windings and thus different readings. So check your meter for it's accuracy and then redo the test! Hope this helps =)
