I finally got around to measuring a set of used cams I bought. They are Comp 101100's. I was a little confused by my measurements even the they seemed to check out. I measured to Lobe height then I measured the base circle and subtracted it from the lobe height. The thing that is confusing me is that the exhaust cam measurements are larger than the Intake cam, but when I do the math I get the correct cam lobe lift thats on the spec card. Here are the measurements I took with a micrometer. My question is, is it normal that the cam lobes for the exhaust be bigger?
Intake Measurements
Lobe Height 1.402"
Base Circle 1.165
Exhaust Measurments
Lobe Height 1.410
Base Circle 1.181
Does anyone have any measurements for any aftermarket cams? Im talkin measurements they took with a micrometer.
