Common exhaust manifold?

So I bought my cars less then a week ago. As I was looking at the engine I noticed that my exhaust manifold was brass. Is this at all common?

Thats the stock cast manifold. Thats what it looks like when the outer corrosion is rubbed or scraped off. Not brass.

Well I'm glad you are amused. I'm not a dsm nerd yet. I've only had v8's. And none of their exaust were this material. So this is all new to me.

The nickel in the casting yellowed a bit. Otherwise, this manifold could be considered rather common as it would've come from the factory on every DSM found on this forum.
