The FP is new so wont be much feedback. I have the first gen of the SBR mani and it works great but was barely larger than the evo mani. My brother has had the sbr mani you are looking at for about a year and it has some surface cracks already. Just from the pic the FP looks to be a better design. Your turbo does have the mitsubishi exhaust housing right?

I think the new FP will have more benefits purely because it will be very hard to crack,
its ceramic coated(if you pay for it, I did), and its been in R&D for two years!

I had the SBR manifold for 14 months and it cracked on me and started leaking. Someone at SBR told me they have not had any of their new manifolds come back cracked yet and since that was the story I heard from them when I picked mine up a year ago last december, I decided to take my business to Punishment Racing. FP was another choice but not what I need which is more then a year warranty.

This isnt even a worth while comparison.

I'd go with the FP I made a bad move a few years ago when I got the SBR manny, It cracked, like I said a few years, but I have only put like 12000 miles on the car and for the money they sell it you can buy a better exhaust manifold somewere else like the GT that elfroggo stated above, again that is my 02

There's really no comparison. The SBR mani is basically a copy of the evoIII mani & not a new design & will not make any huge improvements in any area as your using the same type of poorer flowing factory design. Basically their only benefit is the newer style has a WG mount cast into the #1 runner. The FP mani is a completely custom piece & is designed specifically for performance with an actual collector, it will be a much better performer. I can't recall off the top of my head but the material they use is claimed to be much more resistant to cracking even compared to most other exhaust mani's. First time I checked under my heatshield with the SBR mani after 6 months of use, I found 2 external cracks that were each about half an inch long. If you want to know how much use it had, the mani wasn't even covered in rust yet. Wasn't impressed with that at all but didn't want the down time so I didn't bother to send it back. I have no idea what it looks like internally but I will find out in the next few days when I swap turbos. One of the FP mani's will probably be in my future once they work the heat shield out & depending on what the SBR mani looks like now internally, this might happen sooner then expected.

why do you need it?

I mean i understand the hole reasoning behind it but for the cost, why not get a evo 3 mani and port it?

9s have been acomplished on a ported 2g mainfold...

Check out the new post on FP's new manifold. It is alot lighter than any of the other cast manifolds I have seen out there. It has a great design. As soon as the heat shield comes out, I will get in the long line for ordering one.

Putting the wastegate on a single runner is not a good place for it.
It should be off the collector or the 02.

They are cracking the cast manifold. Support is not needed for the cast unit.
