Looking over the next 6 months to toss my current H&R spring + AGX combo as it's tired, worn out, and just not sufficient. My rear tires are getting a haircut from my fenders.. but those are old and tired too.

Not coming from the world of suspension, what's really left nowadays for a 2G? I see STM has some options that may or may not be actually produced still, and RIX Racing has a couple of used sets.. but I'm not sure what is a good $ / performance. Car use is just a cruiser, something other than a CX5 I can take out during the summer. No autocross, no drag, just representation of the platform on the streets.

I've got paint, wheels/tires, and suspension to sort out, so I'm looking to have a good balance of costs paid overall LOL

I picked these up from isc. Typical Taiwan made. I plan on doing some track days and autox with these soon. They offer spring upgrades also.

Expensive side:
Feal
Flatout
Fortune Auto

Mid range:
BC Racing
Yellow Speed

Cheap:
Yonaka

Have heard the Yonakas are a pretty good ride for $500 from a few people here and on the streets, but I dont have any experience with them myself.

expensive does NOT always mean better, Feals cheapened their product from first entering the market and it showed! Swift Springs USED to be standard then they upped the price and swifts are now OPTIONAL as an extra even though they are more expensive than before!

If it is purely road use then long term BC will be your best bet. its cost-effective and long-lasting plus any replacements are super affordable off the shelf!

I daily drive BC on another car and they work well, my DSM has BC and again been 100% flawless and they do upgrades also like spherical mounts which is really a must for the 2G fronts

Flatout would be the next option but i believe price jumps a bit

BC BR runs $1745 + Tax up here. That's a fair chunk, with a 2 year warranty.
Basically, that's double a Yonaka, which is $850 with a 3 year.
Something I'd have to consider seriously as I've not ridden in a Yonaka-equipped car.

I also have been thinking its time as i still am on old tokicko i think they are called from 2009 i think. We had a set of D2 on buddy's drag car and they work well for the money. I also know some guys with the BC's and have been happy with them. I was not aware feal's have cheapened out? i still thought they were great for the price.

I cannot say the shock has changed but the springs have and its when they did that the price went up for less of a product! Was a huge thing back then but alot wont remember it. Its a shame they did that though $1200-1500 got you a good shock and swift springs. Depending on version opted for, Not anymore

Yeah back then was a huge hit and had that option as standard. I guess they needed more income and swaped it up but i do know it upset allt of people as it was a massive 180 in direction vs price and what you got now
