Hi everyone !

My plastic code plate, located on the left side of the engine, felt off due to the time.

I still have it, and want to make a new one.

The thing is that all the information disepeared, and I don't find
  • interior code
  • equipment code
  • exterior code

Do you know where I can find these ?

My car is a 2G eclipse GST, imported from the US (I'm in France) in 1996.

Thanks for your help !

Thibault

The "plate" on American 2g models is just a sticker

There use to be a member (ten years ago) who would remake them, but i haven't seen that lately
Hi Chrysler kid !

Thanks for replying, yes you're right, the thing is that there are only stickers to identify the car, this one and the one in the door.

As it's an imported car, I need to do a full approval for the car, which of course starts by identify the car.

I have the VIN number marked on the right side under the hood and this is the only "non removal" proof on the car, but this is not stock apparently and has been added in Europe.

What I'm gonna do is just replacing the old stocker plate by an aluminium one, which I will rivet so that it"ll appear stock.

But in order to do that, I need the infos I miss the
  • interior code
  • equipment code
  • exterior code

Thanks for your help !

Hi @Thibclau - members with the European or Japanese market versions of Mitsubishi's ASA should be able to help you fill in the blanks you are looking for. I can try to get this for you later this evening if no one else has provided it for you by that time.

I don't have CAPS/ASA handy so I can't decode the Color Trim Opt from the VIN 4A3AK54F0SE176544 The Car was build for the US/Canada market in Mar of 1995 and here would be considered a 1995 model year.

Model D32A MNGFL4M
Engine 4G63
Trans F5M33 or F4A33 (Manual or Auto)

4-USA/Canada

Hi Steve, yes indeed, the picture I put in my post comes from the owner's manual, and there any information about the ext/equipment/int code, juste the picture..

I tried to find on the Internet, nothing..

The best would be to find someone having the exact same car to know what numbers he has.

Thanks for your help :)

Hi @19Eclipse90 , unfortunately nope, I'm member of a quite large group in France and Spain and no one know where to find those informations..

The missing information that I wasn't able to provide is available by running the VIN through CAPS or ASA. I'd do it but my system is back in Chicago. I'm sure someone else here can do it.

I couldn't tell if you have a manual transmission or an automatic one so I provided the numbers for both. Pick one...

Thanks again 😁

Option - E71
Exterior - P2UF
Interior - 14A

I didn't even bother looking to see that it was a USDM VIN. Thanks for pointing that out, Steve!

When you finally go to make the replacement plate you would have needed to chose one or the other. Since you say it a manual then the trans type is F5M33
Hi Steve !

Ah ok, did not get what you said the first time.

Yes, I already had this XD
