Ok I just bought the car like this the previous owner claims that one day his clutch wouldn't go into gear after about 3000 miles. Now there sounds like something moving around in there when its running..I was thinking throw out bearing its a act 2100 clutch is this a known problem?

You need to be able to pull the split shaft out of the tranny before you drop it.Ive done it with out disassembling the brakes on the d/side.Unbolt and pop the axle out of the hub, unbolt the carrier bearing, Pull the axle out.Iv also found that taking out the small bracket thats bolted between the a-frame and the body really helps w/removal.Good luck

I'm going to need it..This is my first tranny removal..

Well i got the tranny off and one of the pressure plate arms broke off and went inside the clutch and broke the center housing were one of the springs are..

Are all clutches the same for every year and 6 or 7 bolt motors?

Hey whats the best way to torque the flywheel bolts without turning the crank over..I can't seem to hold it still.

C'mon snowborder were are you? Your always there to help me...LOL..

Get a breaker bar with a 1/2" end, put it in the crank bolt, and use the curved control arm (I believe) to hold it in place. Then you can wrench on the flywheel bolts without the crank moving. Or there's a Miller tool on eBay that is made for this that uses 2 guide pins instead of the 1/2" end.

Please don't bump your thread next time. If it's an urgent issue and you think I can help, just send me a PM with the question or a simple "Please check out this thread."

Yea sorry about that although that wasn't my intentions...I torqued the flywheel bolts down today and OMG so much easier with the breaker bar holding the crank..:thumb:
