Its a 91 :talon: AWD 5 speed, I just bolted it up 2 the engine the other day and cant get the engine to stay running unless I have the clutch pedal depressed. As soon as I start to let off the pedal the RPM's go down, when fully let of the clutch pedal the engine dies out. Haven't come across this problem before and I need help. WTF

THIS IS NOT A CLUTCH PROBLEM.

I guess you didn't hear me the first 3 times I said it, so I'll repeat myself. There is either something internally wrong in the transmission (ie you didn't rebuild it correctly) or there is something wrong with the shift forks/shifter cables. The clutch was probably fine until you decided to fry it.

Try this, pull the tranny off and see if you can turn the input shaft easy while the trans is in "neutral". If you can't, then I bet the engine can't either.

I don't think I could if I wanted to, unless I went to the hardware store to get a bolt that has threads to the bolt head. Good to hear that I don't have to, thanks. THis afternoon I Started the car up and moved it forward and reverse a couple times and now I can release the clutch and the engine will stay running, now all I have to do is re adjust the cables and it should be fine... I guess the trans just needed to have the oil sloshed around so it would stop binding up.

Thanks to everyone who provided me with possible solutions!
