Engine stalls if clutch is held in while moving

Let me first say that I don't have too much of a problem with this, it's when other people drive my car. I know the solution to this is to not let other people drive my car, but that isn't always possible.

When I'm slowing down, I downshift and let the engine help brake. Always. When other people drive my car they seem to coast to a stop with the clutch pressed in, or put it out of gear and slow down with only the brakes. When they do this, the engine will stall out and they'll have to pop the clutch to restart it while moving, or restart it with the key. The obvious solution to this is to always keep it in gear.

BUT...

This happened to me today when I was in 5th, went to downshift to 4th to pass someone, but didn't, and hesitated to put it in gear. It stalled out, but when I put it in 4th and let the clutch out, it restarted.

What I'm thinking is happening - is that when the car is in nuetral, the momentum of the car isn't keeping the engine revved up, and the rpms fall too much and the engine dies.

Again, this only seems to happen when it's left out of gear too long and it's just coasting.
The car idles just fine when it's stopped.

Is there a reason my engine is dieing in nuetral?

First thought....You have your BOV vented.

Edit: I just saw your mods in your profile...and am now assuming that you don't vent since you have a dejon leak stop 1g bov.

Only other thing I can think of at the moment would be that you have some weird fuel problem when the revs come down.

Lol, no I'm not venting. I know better than to vent on a drawthrough setup. I was reading up on some other threads and some people were having a problem with their rpms dropping really low (but not dying). The solutions people gave were to replace the fuel filter and check plugs, wires, spark plug gap, all that. It looks like that's what I'm going to be doing when I get back in town.

I see you have an upgraded clutch. Do you have a lightweight flywheel as well? If so, this could be the culpret. I have the same problem for that reason.

I don't have an upgraded clutch, just the stainless braided clutch line. The flywheel is stock. It doesn't die when it's parked or anything, just when it's moving and there's no load on the engine.
