Clutch Slipping?

Well I bought my car

1999 Eclipse GSX
70k miles
FP Big28
GReaddy Profec B Bost controller
GReaddy Boost & EGT Gauges
Ingein Intake
1st gen bov
2.5" downpipe Apex N 1 muffler
CFDF Clutch

Well I can put the car in like 3rd - 4th at 30 mph and floor it, Once it gets up past the 1st few thousand rpm's it flys up to 5 in an instant like I have the clutch in,

This seems to be a slipping clutch, Just one problem the CFDF clutch is sopossed to be amazing and not slip. So some people think It may not be adjusted right, The flywheel may not be stepped right or something along thoes lines,

Any Clue? or should I just take it to the shop and have them tell me whats going on.

Well it sounds like the clutch is definately slipping, try adjusting the play at the pedal. If that doesn't work it is likely something wrong internally.

I agree with maperformance. When I upgraded my stock clutch, I thought it was starting to slip, but it was just the pedal adjustment. The clutch still had another 70k miles or so left in it.

The following test is described more thoroughly in a Haynes manual if you have one, but you'll get the idea.

In 1st gear, slowly let out the clutch and take note of where the pedal is when the clutch starts to engage. If the clutch pedal is nearly all the way out when this happens, you need to try adjusting at the pedal. Doublecheck your manual if you have one...and if you don't, go get one .

It is a good clutch but not indestructible. Any clutch can slip. Guys have posted on here about slipping CFDF's. Much of it depends on how the previous owner drove it (or abused it). Start by checking adjustment as suggested above but don't rule out the possibility of a bad clutch. Good luck
