So I was driving to work today and i noticed that the clutch was slipping out of the blue. It drove great yesterday with no issues... supposedly the clutch in there is only 20k old. But the kid i got the car from decided to put an EVO III 16g on without mods and run some high boost. He also wasn't the best at driving...so i'm wondering if it's the disk burnt out and I gotta swap in a new one. Or what else might cause this? There is still a good amount of pressure when i press the clutch, fluid level is normal and i have a brand new slave....help!

Clutch could be going out. What are your symptoms? My clutch was slipping on my old 2g and everything time I were to floor and hit boost, it'll just catch a little at the begining and begin to rev all the way up to redline. But my normal driving is fine.

Just take your tranny and pressure plate out and you should fine out if the disc is bad.

Yup that's exactly what's happening. If i get it very little throttle it'll slowly start to catch and the car will move. But any boost or more than that little bit of throttle and the revs spike and i stay put hah. It's happened to me once before, i'd just rather check other things before i drop the tranny.

You can check for Clutch adjustments But, since you are saying that you have plenty of Clutch Pedal,
Your best bet is what (99GSTSPYDER) Said, Bring down the Transmission and check your clutch,
Other wise, you can bring down the Boost to Stock to see what happens, It might save you some time to get prepare to bring the Transmission Down.

Yeah i tried all the adjustments and bleeding. Time to drop it I guess! Haha I dropped a CRX tranny in 35 mins so i'm hoping i can have it done by the end of tonight.

it took me and a friend 4 hours with hand tools to swap an awd transmission 1 for 1 with a cherry picker so that we didnt have to man handle the transmission back into place. just dont be like me and for get to pull the speedo cable out untill its half way to the floor, ( i managed to catch it before it was a problem )

Just wanted to finish up this thread. Got an ACT 2600 with 800 miles on it for 100 bucks, got the transaxle on the first try! Put her all back together and now she's running well! Damn stiff clutch...
