alright i have just under 3000 miles on my fresh build. i put a new clutch in when i built it..
i have just a few basic minor mods
16g turbo 15psi
airfilter
custom 3" catback
3" maf sensor/translator (no where near tuned)

i have had clutch problems the whole time ive had this car..
i have had to mess with making new push rods ad putting spacers behind the pivot ball.

well i just did my exhaust and i notice a bit of more power.. spools a lot faster and harder =]
but now it slipps when i get into boost unless im in 1st or 2nd...
it does feel a lot faster than when it was full blown stock but i doubt that its enough power to make my clutch slip..
i just dont know what i should do.

should i shorten the pushrod and see if i can get that to work and be able to still get in gear?

get a performance disc? a whole kit is kinda WAY out of budget..

or should i ???????

please help

If it was new, you might need to adjust the master cylinder as the clutch gets worn in. Adjust the rod so that it goes into the pedal. Just one or two turns. I'm not 100% on how to do this on a 1g, but I hear it's a bi***. Good luck.

I could see shimming the pivot ball, question I have is making new push rods. If the clutch is slipping, it sounds like the rod is too long and isn't letting all the pressure off the throwout bearing.

Could you have a leaking rear mail seal leaking oil all over the clutch?

ok ya i meant shortening it a lil more...
but the seal..... i dont think my seal is leaking.. its a fresh motor done by a trustworthy machine shop.. but maybe...

also though is i have had 5 halfshafts explode in the last week and my car is caked in all that grease... could that get up into the clutch?? i think there is no where for it to get up there

Does you have any free play at the top of your pedal throw, any inconsistant engagement? Factory clutch or upgrade?

After it slips, crawl up under the car and see if you can push the slave cylinder rod back into the housing. If you can't, then you need to adjust your pedal so that the pressure can be bled off in the master cylinder. Also make sure your cruse control switch (top of the pedal) is backed out to let the pedal have more movement.

If your rear main seal was leaking, you would see oil dripping out of the inspection plate. I saw one that was installed incorrectly and was leaking about half a qt. a week that didn't affect clutch engagement at all; just dripped out of the bellhousing.

Imagine this: Your clutch was not clamped all the way down before, but you didn't make enough power to break it loose. Now with your new mods it's enough. But your clutch still has more in it if only you would adjust it to let it clamp down some more.

Of course, I could be wrong, but the easiest thing to do is try.
