okay so i was driving my car today, and i stopped i put my foot back on the clutch. when i put my foot back on the clutch it sank to the floor and just stayed there. i had to use my foot to get the clutch pedal back up. sometimes it will go into gear and sometimes it wont. i have to rev a lil bit to get into first gear. the pedal feels alot looser. also it makes lil screech noise when engaged..any ideas? i drive a 7bolt 4g63 over the winter my car clutch pedal would stick sometimes before this happend

if its my master cylinder wouldn't my brakes stop working as well? my brakes feel fine

No they have separate master cylinders. Have you checked the fluid level in the reservoir? Sounds like there is air in the system due to master or slave failure.

OK, well you arent getting enough disengagement. And you saying the pedal stuck to the floor tells me there is air in the system. Try bleeding the system and see if that helps. If it does for a while then this happens again you have a faulty part. Check under the carpet under the pedals for wetness. If its wet than the master is junk.

thanks alot for the info, now i know the tihngs i need to look for. ill start off by bleeding

I had a similar problem. When the car comes to a stop from a 40mph cruise my clutch pedal will sink and stay there. As hundreds of miles pass my clutch started slipping and harder to get into gear.
I found out my master cylinder was dead, no signs of leaking or anything.

ok so i bleed the clutch line and let out all the air. when i start the car the clutch feels softer, and when i put my foot down on the clutch i feel grinds in my foot like my foot moved up and down a lil bit from the clutch pedal lifting it.. what could be the problem??
