Its obvious I'm dealing with a fluid leak from my clutch cylinder. I looked up at autozone for a replacement. There's a master and a slave? which is which. There is a small rectangular square silver metal box that the clucth lines go to on the driver side. Does anyone know what this is called? There is fluid on top of it.

Thanks

master cylinder is under the reservoir, the slave is on the tranny. There is a line between the two.

You need to get under the hood and find out where the problem is coming from. I recommend RockAuto.com for you parts.

Ok thanks for the input, I'm gonna crawl under it when I get home to see exactly where it's leaking.

It's most likely leaking from the seal where the the shaft enters into master cylinder. It will happen over time as the seal wears out and it allows air to enter into the lines.

If you want, take a look under the dash at the rod. It'll would be wet around that area. Being a 2g, it's not all that difficult to change out the cylinder but do get the slave cylinder as well. Just like brakes, you replace both the pad and rotor (or rather turn the rotor). If the slave cylinder has the same wear on it, it could start leaking tomorrow or a couple months down the road.

If you don't have it already, now would be a good time to consider doing a SS clutch line.

I replaced the slave cylinder cause that's where I found the initial leak. I ended up leaving the master cylinder alone because it looks brand new. I haven't put but 10K on the car in two years. It's hard to say what was replaced. Obviously not the slave cylinder cause the boot dried out and cracked.

Thanks all for the help
