clutch fluid leak

I have clutch fluid leaking from somewhere near the transmission. It's leaking down onto the center brace. What could it be leaking from? Could it be the slave cylinder? and yes it is clutch fluid, not transmission fluid

Pull the boot back on the slave rod and see if fluid comes out. If it does, the slave is bad. Rebuild it ot get a new one.

Is a slave cylinder just a standard part, like universal fitting to some degree?

The slave cylinder is a model, manufacturer specific part. Sometimes they interchange.
