This problem is in my 89 Mirage AWD. I'm using a 1g master and slave, hard line to a ss flexible line to the slave. My clutch setup is a Fidanza flywheel w/ XTD stage 2 PP and ClutchNet 4 puck unsprung disc.
I'm having a very odd problem. Most people have problems with disengagement, I'm having problem with my clutch engaging. A couple nights ago I was doing some tuning and my clutch engagement point started getting higher and the pedal itself wouldn't depress all the way to the floor, it would act like it was fully disengaged halfway down the norm. As it turns out, the clutch was fully disengaged and the fork was pressing against the tranny with the pedal halfway down.
For some reason the slave cylinder was pushing against the fork and keeping the PP disengaged without me pushing the clutch in at all. I couldn't move the slave rod or fork at all with the pedal all the way up. I twisted the bleeder to relieve the pressure and as expected the fork released and the cylinder was able to be pushed back into the slave. The clutch is engaging and disengaging fine now that I did that. My engagement point is (and has always been) about 1/4 from the top. My question is what would cause that to happen? Why wasn't the pressure being allowed to release when I let off the pedal? Could this be a faulty slave or master cylinder? Both of them were recently replaced.
