Ok well heres the thing, I had a bad clutch pedal assy. so I changed it out, while I was there I did the master cylinder and bled everything and the clutch seemed good. Now the assy. that I got has the smallest about of play in it, the kind that mean its bad, push it in pull up and theres a tad of movement. Now I mean like a quater of an inch of play. My question is that when the car first starts up and I start going every thing is good, clutch free play is there, engauges at the right time, and trans shifts great. But after say 20- 25 mins and a bunch of shifts later the free play is gone the engagement height is much higher and the trans will grind second quite a bit. What could the problem be? Just a simple bleed the clutch or maybe a whole new pedal assy.? Any help is appriated. thanks guys.

I would say bleed the clutch again after you check the slave cylinder. You already swapped out the master cylinder but make sure the slave isn't leaking too. I would also think adjusting the rod but you say the engagement point changes so that leads me to believe its a hydraulic issue so it wouldn't be the rod.

Good luck
Steve

Sounds to me like it needs to be bled. I would replace the clutch line with a stainless one if you havent already, since you are right there. Checking the slave would also be a good idea. I am not positive but maybe the master cylinder needs to be bench bled first, I dont have my manual handy sorry i cant tell you right now.

you need to adjust the rod so you have more freeplay. whats happening is the clutch is pumping up because its not adjusted right.

Pull the boot of the slave cylinder and see if you have any fluid in there if you do its blown and you need a new one. I had the same problem on mine as far as the freeplay changing when driving and clutch engaugement. It turned out my slave cylinder was leaking a little so it may have let air in the system while operating.

no update yet, turbo took a dump so until i get that back on i wont know. i did bleed the clutch and didnt really get and air. so once its on the road agian you guys will know. thanks for the help

hate to thread jack but im having the same problem. so do i adjust it a quater turn? or adjust it so it engages a quater inch higher off the ground? my car doesn't grind but when i start to drive it the point of engagement is really close to the ground but after a while the pressure does increase and it engages higher. anyways like i said sorry about the thread jack
