I could use some recommendations on my next clutch, right now I have a Fidanza full disc sprung clutch, it's been very reliable but I've always kind of wished it grabbed a little quicker/harder.

Obviously since I have a N/T I don't even need to lay one eye on a 4 puck. What would be a better choice? A full disc unsprung or a 6 puck sprung? Pros and cons or each?...

I bought a Gripforce clutch Stage 1 for my NT. I regret it and wish i didnt buy a stage 2. I would like some more grip as well. The clutch is rated max 195 hp. Stage 2 is up to 300. So you should get something along those lines. As for sprung or unsprung, is up to you. I read that the unsprung ones aren't that nice for daily driving

I second the ACT 2100/street disk combo. Its not necessary to get anything more than that on your application and if you do its just going to be a PITA to drive in traffic since the clutch pedal just gets harder to push to the firewall.

Engagement has to do with the adjustment on the clutch hydraulic system, if you want it to engage quicker make a few minor adjustments.

Full disc unsprung.

Organic, kevlar or ceramic?

I believe it engages fine, I just want a clutch disc that is going to grab onto the flywheel a little quicker. You're right I probably shouldn't bother with a 6 puck, as daily driving with a heavier clutch would get old fast.

Many people hate but i have an xtd (ebay) clutch and love it so far. And for half the price i was willing to take the risk.

Well after doing some more research I think I scared myself out of getting an unsprung clutch since there's always that chance it could damage parts of my drivetrain from harsh engagement.

I was browsing the ACT website and I think the ACT Performance - SS clutch sounds about right for what I want.

What do you guys think about this Fidanza 3.2 Performance Clutch?

The ACT 2100 was one of the best clutch kits I've ever used. Highly recommend for up to 350 ft/lbs torque.

BUT, if your Fidanza pressure plate is in good condition and you're interested in saving a bit of coin, then I'd recommend just replacing the disk if you want a clutch that engages harder. I'd recommend this disk with your current PP: http://www.clutchnet.com/product.php?productid=17803&cat=0&page=1

That's true, never thought about the fact that if my pressure plate is fine I can still use it. Thanks for the link :thumb: That seems like a nice disc for a reasonable price

Im not a real believer in ebay parts but the xtd stage 4 clutch is one of the best around. It has been reviewed all over this site and is a better alternative to the ACT clutches. Its a 6 puck unsprung so it may take a slight adjustment to learn to drive it at first but then it will clamp everything up to and beyond 450whp. My setup is right around 400whp and it has never slipped. I believe there was another guy in a thread on here using it on his hx35 with e85 setup that was around 500whp. Its a relatively cheap clutch but is holding up for everyone!

Well I believe Paul is guiding me in the right direction, because this is a N/T daily driver with typical performance upgrades. I just want something more grabby (but not too grabby like an unsprung clutch) and have it still be somewhat comfortable to daily drive with.

From what I understand, Paul is suggesting I use the pressure plate I have now so that I can still keep a soft clutch pedal for daily driving, but upgrade the disc to a 6 puck sprung so that it will grab better (what I want)

Jim is right in that it would definitely be an overkill clutch set-up (good for around 450 ft/lbs torque), but if grabby is what you want, then that's the best/cheapest way to get there.

I just hope to don't get it in there and then wish you were back to the original, smooth engaging organic disc.

Well that's why I was thinking that maybe the ACT Performance - SS clutch might not be such a bad choice?..

But that ACT clutch kit is pretty much identical to the clutch set-up you already have. Very similar pressure plate rating and feel, and it also uses the same friction material on the disk. So, if you want a different feeling engagement, then you need to use a different type of disk.

Ah I see, gotchya :hmm:

Actually I think Fidanza uses a kevlar/carbon combination for the disc
