My car started doing this today. I have a parts car i use so im going to try the old spark plug wires and change the coil pakc to see how it goes.

I have codes PO301 PO135 and PO140. I tried replacing the plug. wire, and the coil pack is tested and fine. Injector?

Okay, I misunderstood, I didnt realize that you had another 420a. Do that test and let us know how it goes.
Whats wrong your 96? Obviously something has to be wrong with it or else you would just drive that car.

its an auto and the tranny went out. The cost for a rebuild was gonna be like 1500. I know thats alot but i went to about 8 different places and that was the average.

Dude, I can get you a new transmission for WAY cheaper than 1500. It's not all that hard to swap out a transmission. Sure it is an all day job, but it would be easier than swapping out the motors. Would you have a few hundred for the transmission? I think it would be easier than swapping the motors... but maybe not.

I would say that if your other motor is good, and your compression test comes up ok, then just start swapping anything that has to do with spark and fuel from the "good" motor to the "bad" one.

I have the 96 almost parted out. Interior and bumpers are gone. I like the standard better anywho. Alot more mods done to my 97' also. I didnt get a chance to do the compression test today. No tools here to take out the spark plugs and dad isnt home to get into the shop for tools.

Any chance you can get on AIM so we dont have to keep posting?

Alright i checked it and your mobile so im not going to send and run your bill up.

420A Motors suck. Dont get one.

motor swap cost 650$. Cost of a 1991 acura ingetra 450$. Guess ill get the eclipse fixed another time. LOL

yep and this guy changed his mind on doing it. So its no big deal. I got a whole car for cheaper than a swap. me and my dad are gona do the swap. i found that out last night.

I would replace your oxygen sensor first and foremost.

P0140 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected

Thanks for posting your OBD codes by the way; it makes diagnosing what's going on with your car much easier.
What if you're just getting the p0301 code?
I have replaced my plugs my wires my coil pack my camshaft position sensor my throttle body position sensor my idle actuator valve and it still hesitates from idle and idle like garbage. Could that still be a O2 sensor? Oh it's a 99 Eclipse none turbo and totally stock.
