2G Changed Crank Pulley and belts, now it won't start

So last night I changed my crank pulley. Also replaced alternator belt and AC belt. I turned on the car and heard grinding noise coming from the pulley side. Was on for 20 seconds and the car shut off by its self. I tried to turn back on and it turns over normally but car does not start any ideas. Very much appreciated.

Go through the simple usual stuff like do you have spark?

Check connectors and do a crank position sensor test.

Thats all you changes was the harmonic balancer, didnt take the timing cover off?

What balancer did you use?
 
Oem balancer no did not change timing belt it only had 300 miles on it no the grind sounds like. Metal car engine turns over normally just doesn't start
 
Timing belt is fine no damage to it at all just heading grinding noises from pulley side when I started it I think something is grinding on the plastic or something under. But my car also doesn't start so 2 different problems
 
dude. Go out and check the cps like Ive said twice and posted a how to link.

If you dont have a multi meter borrow one or buy one, they can range from $5 harbor freight junk to very expensive professional units.

When you have done this get back to us.
 
If there super tight it will put to much stress on everything/pulleys and could cause things to drag/bind. Then giving you a really slow crank and no start. I've seen it before bro that's why i asked. Especially since he said he can hear grinding noises from the pulleys. And all he did was change the crank pulley and belts.
 
I took off all the bolts even the center one it wouldn't come off if I don't remove the center one. And oem crank pulley and I think my alternator belt might be too tight.
 
Actually you don't need to remove the center bolt on the crank pulley. Only the 4 on the outside need to be removed. The center bolt is holding the crank sprocket for the timing belt on, not the pulley. Did you torque the center bolt properly since you took it off?
 
So I've been searching why my car turned off on its own I've seen that maybe valves bent cause of me removing center bolt and putting it back on then turning on the car. The car died on its own and wouldn't turn back on. What's u guys think?
 
Just taking the bolt out and putting back in having done nothing else won't hurt anything. The inner crank gear is on there pretty good even without the bolt. Your timing belt for some reason must have jumped timing. If it jumps one tooth the car won't start. When mine jumped one tooth it didn't bend any valves, so you might be ok. Any more and for sure bent valves :(. Can you rotate the motor by hand and Check the timing marks? That's what you need to do and tell us what you find. Or you knocked something loose like the cps plug or another. Is your upper timing cover off? Maybe you dropped a bolt inside.

There is a tinplate behind the balancer that lines up with the crank sensor, if you bent/tweeked this plate you could bust the crank sensor and that will cause a no start.

The crank gear is also has a woodruff key in the crank, so a simple removal of the center bolt will not allow the timing belt to jump in 20 seconds.

Now if the bolt is left loose, and run for a good bit of time, the center bolt could vibrate out, then the balancer walk out with the crank gear and become un keyed and the belt would jump at that time.

But by the time that happened, the balancer would be pushed into the frame rail.

That tin plate is the CPS sensing blade and is behind the crank sprocket - not the balancer (aka crank pulley). Although yes, if the crank center bolt is loose enough where the crank sprocket can move, that would allow the sensing blade to then move which would destroy the CPS.

If you had the center bolt out and you tried to start the car then i could see a problem but the noise on the other hand could be that crank sensor plate taking out the sensor . Try to scan it you might have a code for the crank sensor . I also think that when you try to find the noise you will find your problem.
 
I can see the other side of the cam has them exactly aligned. IDK what this one is I'm just Reyna figure out if the timing belt is aligned. Like I said there's 2 other marks like this that align on the opposite sides of the cams
