car wont start or turn over, will pop start tho

okay so heres the deal, my 96 eclipse gs with the 420a engine will not start, i just replaced the starter because i thought thats what the problem was and still nothing. the car gets power, has a brand new alternator and battery and now a starter, there is absolutely nothing when i try to turn the car on just power to everything no sign that it even wants to start, i was thinking maybe its the asd relay but i cant be sure what do i do

Check all your grounds? Specially the starter, alt, and battery grounds. Since you recently worked on them.

make sure you have fuel, compression and start those being basics for any car that will not start.

seeing as the starter wont turn, check that your signal wire is getting voltage when the key is turned, if not, check your starter relay.

have you checked all your fuses and relays? get a piece of wire, strip some of the rubber coating off of each end (make sure its a thick wire, no speaker wire or anything like that), and connect the + to the + of the relays (most of them have a diagram on them that tell you whats what. Once you have the wire in place, try and start it, essentially what you are doing is sending the voltage through the wire to complete the circuit and thus acting like the relay.

If the car turns over then the relay is bad, if not then its not the relay.

I would check and see if your clutch switch is getting engaged when you step on the clutch. It should be a pretty simple switch to trouble shoot.

i got it fixed that same day, i went through the entire system and did turn out to be the clutch switch. the screw that pushes it down was missing. on the plus side, i have a new starter now
