ok, this car has decent compresion around 145 on all cylinders , then the hg blew, so i did the hg, cleaned up the head, intake manifold since they were nasty coveredwith oil, ect, got my timing dead on wth the belt, double checked all connections, ect, and it wont start up, it turns over but nohting, i have fuel, i have spart, i have air, wtf does it take for this pos to start, also now, i checked compresion, cold of course and its 90-100 on all the cylinders,,,im pissed!, also checked the plugs, they keep getting wet,,,ive even put new plugs in, ect,,,and also this is on my new project, a 91 fwd laser auto

dbl check the timing and then look into the spark side but i assume that the timing is the issue as the car ran b4 the hg went.

Pull the valve cover and crack each bolt loose one at a time and retorque it.
Make sure that nothing is inbetween the hg and head or block that is not suppose to be ( just look all around the head)

Well, I had this same prob after doing a HG. Turned out to be the coolant temp sensor was unplugged. Some cars will start without it unplugged and some wont, check it. Also check the CAS to make sure its not 180* out. And as said before check timing.

the valve timing is dead on perfect, the spark timing is the same as it was before when it ran well, never touched the cas, the coolant plug is in, ive known abuot that as well as making sure there is enough coolant in to reach the sencor, ill try the retorquing, and they were all torqued in steps and in propper pattern,,,,i dont get it, i have two cars actually with similar issues with head gaskets this car being the worse, ive done them time and time before without any issue at all and now its like the dsm gods are just crapping all over me
