car wont run with stock MAS plugged in

i bought this car and the MAS plug had been cut off. So i bought a new plug and wired it in. It was a 2G plug but somehow the wire colors were different. I pulled up a wiring diagram for what the colors should be and matched the plug to the factory harness. The car will not run at all with the mas plugged in. It just starts then dies. If i unplug it then the ECU takes over and runs its open loop values. As soon as i plug it back in the car dies.

Does this mean my MAS is bad or my ECU?

Can you borrow another MAS for testing? And are you sure that you wired the new connector properly?

no unfortunately i dont...are there two different harnesses for 2g's? why are the colors different on mine?

Was it an aftermarket plug? The colors just might be different. Easy way to wire it up the right way is hold them side by side and just match each wire one at a time to the one in each pin. If that makes sense. Also maybe it was cut off and sold to you like that just to make it "run".

i dont believe it was an aftermarket plug. the plug said it was from a 2g MAS. The car was not running though when i got it. I bought it without a transmission in it. And unfortunately the dick "lost" all the air parts from the filter to the TB elbow and forgot to mention that supposedly so i had to buy all new stuff. And one of those things was the MAS. Im going to check my wiring again to make sure that its wired correctly then i'll write back. My buddy said that the car would not start at all if the ECU was cooked. Is that true?

The other thing is people like to cut these things off and sell them because people need them for 1gs that want a 2g mas. Which makes me thing that he sold all the stuff not just lost it.
