Couldn't find anything on this topic by searching. I am just wondering at what boost level you actually start out flowing the stock 1G MAS. I am running 19 pounds on a 14B and I get this noise kind of like there is a restriction in the intake. It is making the same sound as when the intake in my 3G would move and not allow air into the inlet. It's kind of a muffled grunting noise. Kind of hard to explain.

Is there a way to tell if I am out flowing the MAS? When you are reading the Karman setting on an AFC-II does that mean anything at all? I know that the AFC is not an acurate way of reading anything in the car, but I thought that it might at least give me an idea.

I dont really get what your tring to say, the intake pipe will not close no matter how much air passes through it. It will become a greater restricion as you increase the boost, but I doubt you will hear the restriction. The problems arise when the mas can't read all the incoming air. I start to run into this problem at around 18psi with my car. It will begin to lean the car out and makes tuning impossible after you start to pull too much air through the stock mas.

I just fixed a broken stud on the exhaust manifold, so this new noise could just be something that I am not use to because I couldn't hear it before with that huge exhaust leak. I guess the main question is when do you start to pull more air than the air meter is able to read and you answered that, that could be one of the reasons that I can't ever get my logger to read any richer than it does now even though I richen the car up.

I'm overruning my stock 1g mas at anything over 15psi on a 16g

With an afc if you put it in airflow display and it looks like a richter scale then your over running that bi***.

When I try to read the airflow on my AFC, usually in 3rd gear it will go over 2,000 Hz. Like I was saying in my orginal post, I didn't know if this was a good way of reading it or not. I just want to be able to tell for sure whether or not I am overflowing the MAS.
