2G Car won’t turn over

So I’ve recently been trying to get my car running after it sitting for a year and it used to crank and start up easily before with no issues but now it’s not able to. I have replaced the head gasket recently.
The issue is when I try to start it, it makes a loud clicking noise but never cranks. But if I pop the clutch while moving it starts up easily. And then if I turn it off afterwards same situation as before starts up.
I’ve replaced the battery, and starter.
I can’t seem to figure it out, and from reading about others with this similar issue they said it could be the alarm system drawing power. And if that’s the case I don’t know what wire I need to find.

Check the grounds to your starter. One battery ground goes to firewall the other goes to starter bolt.

There’s a ground cable coming from one of the trans bolts that goes to the negative terminal. Check that first

Sounds like grounds in general! I had this with the grounds next to the power steering and fire wall getting loose from vibrations.

If not a weak battery or bad starter solenoid, then you most likely have a bad large battery cable connection. Disconnect battery cable terminals on both ends of both cables, clean them with a wire brush, and re-tighten them. Remember the large ground cable coming from battery negative needs to go under a starter mounting bolt head on the bell housing. A separate cable goes to the firewall.

Could also be a bad cable (eg. internal crack) which needs replacing.
