I'm willing to bet this has been discussed more than once, but search has been down for about a day (on both forums) and I need an answer.

Car was running fine, had a small fuel leak where the fuel feed line meets the fuel rail due to a faulty O-ring (wasn't driving it). Replaced the O-ring, and ever since the car won't run. It will fire up almost right away, but dies instantly. Can't keep it running with my foot on the gas either. I am getting good fuel pressure and spark on all cylinders. I have checked all sensors and harnesses and everything seems to be connected.

Any ideas on what to check? I have a multimeter so I can test electrical crap easily. And if anyone knows of some threads related to this please point me that way.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Solution
Well figured it out, of all things it was a weak connection at the harness plug at the fuel pump. I knew it was something stupid. :thumb:

Thanks for the replies.
Replace your 2 thermostat housing sensors, if that doesn't work... say something and I'll see what I can find out

Maybe replace the coilpack or test it at the least. (While I'm thinking about it)

Coil pack is brand new. Liike I mentioned I'm getting spark on all cylinders.

One of the sensors in the thermostat housing is the temp gauge sensor and the other is the coolant temp sensor for the ecu. What would that have to do with it not running? (not calling you an idiot, just wondering)

Well my friend is a master technician at mitsu and he has worked as a master tech for 20 years and he said that anytime the coolant temp sensor goes bad it makes your car run rich because it can't tell that its at normal operating temp or cold operating temp so you don't get the right mixture. If not that I would test your camshaft angle sensor. Other than that... check your ecu for leaks

Definately worth a try, I've got lots of parts around anyway. I guess that's a good possibility, it does kinda act like it's too rich to run. I might also just try leaning out the SAFC some to see if that's the problem.

Thanks for the ideas.

Flip your cam angle sensor 180

Why didn't I think of that...it probably flipped itself over sometime while the car was sitting in the driveway.

LOL
are you getting fuel in the cylinders?? your rail might be blocked by something .........
if your not getting fuel in the cylinders. take the fuel rail off and check to make sure they spray when you crank the car. just hold the injectors in the rail while someone cranks it right quick. (use a few rags to catch the spray). careful

Seriously, check your ECU like suggested earlier... My car wouldnt start worth crap, and when it did, it wanted to die right away. Everything else was tuned up (I know, i did it all before checking the ECU, duh) but it still acted like shit.. turns out the ECU was fried, and was flooding the engine on start. It only takes 5 minutes to pull an ECU and inspect it, all you need is a Phillips and an 10mm :)
