car shuts off

my 97 gst. runs fine when im driving it but when i slow down to a stop sign and put it in neutral the car shuts off why that?

check for boost leak, and if ## venting your bov that will be the problem, recirculate it.

also my check engine light came on. how do u check for a boost leak? i just got the car a week ago i still have more reading to do

Does it have a rough idle as well?

I would check the iac motor the tps to make sure its in spec and the throttle plate sensor. And also boost leaks.

you might want to also check and see if your biss screw is adjusted properly my friends 2g was missing his and everytime he would crank his car he would have an extremely high idle and the fall on its face

I agree check the screw and there is a o ring on it. I would replace it and make sure you have the rubber plug that covers the hole up. If not buy it its $3 bucks.

HA..JUST had this problem.. Its a vaccum leak.Check the gasket between your throttle body elbow and your throttle body

If you can't find them at your local autozone or checkers try looking for them on the internet before you get charged up the butt at a dealership

It may not be the screw, it could be a worn/missing o-ring on it. You can replace the o-ring and be right-as-rain if it is missing.

After starting, idle fine (ie. no issues).
If yes, can you blip the gas without issue (tap gas peddle with foot down 2 inches quickly)?
Can you bump the clutch from a stand still, just enough to make the car role -then quickly put the clutch back in; does the issue start or go away once the car starts to move?

Go to AutoZone and get the code read.

i went to autozone to read the code the person said it was showing dealer codes or something. but when i put in my system and unhooked the battery when i went to start my car up the check engine light was gone.. also my vac on my gauge reads about 15. im gunna put up a pic of the engine

the engine is stock 7 bolt, apex bov, 16g turbo, 5spd rebuilt wit sheppard internals stock clutch, ported 2gb exhaust manifold, s.s exhaust housing w/external wastegate dump, walbro 255 gph fuel pump 550 injectors

I'm having the same issue with my car, I just had the engine rebuilt and it runs like a great. It's only when I come to a stop, I let off the throttle, put the car in neutral, when the car's RPMs will drop fast and car dies..

I'm thinking maybe that I dont have enough air restriction? since everything I ported or larger then stock?
