I'm lost right now, but here is the story. I got my ac recharged yesterday and I drove home fine. I then took my car to work and everything still ran fine. I came home, washed my car, turned it on, but it bogged every time I start it. I checked my maf and looked for any vacuum leaks but nothing. I checked this morning to start my car and the same thing happened. My car only has 84,000 miles. My car always had this camming idle, but I never checked if it had cams. When driving, my car would would die when I put it in neutral while my ac was on. Probably because it dropped the rpm too low and it couldn't recover. This is the first time I'm experiencing this problem.

A lot of things can cause your issue. Do boost leak test, check your spark plugs, coils, plug wires,do you have any engine codes, check your 02sensor

No check engine light so it can't be the 02 sensor. I'll probably do a boost leak test first but I doubt that too since I've been driving normal the last 2000 miles and haven't got on it.

Doesn't sound like it's been driving normal if the car would die after putting it in neutral with the A/C on. It could be a boost leak that has been getting progressively worse. It's worth it to do a BLT anyway to clear all of that up.

My car always has a low idle between 900-1k so when the ac is on, it can't keep up unless I downshift my way to 1st gear. It idles find when I start it with ac. It's only when I drive and put it in neutral from a gear. I'll do a blt test first and see what's up.

Check your fuel pressure regulator and the solenoid attached to it.
My friend's car has a lightweight flywheel on it and the damn thing stalls whenever you put it into neutral if you're above 3000 RPMs :p

That sounds more like the idle can't catch itself properly when coming down from a high RPM, not a fuel issue.
That's what my car does only If my ac is on. The idle can't catch itself so it does. My car bounces between 7-1k and it sounds like cams. My car is bone stock and it's never been molested.

Yes check your isc motor for correct operation. There is a good write up on here about testing it, Google it cause I'm not sure how to post a link.

Just found out my car had jumped a tooth and 1/2. Their was no knocking luckily but I'm still scared shitless. My brother had tested it and got on it but it didn't knock. I drove it around the block to test some more but no knocking. When I found out that it had jumped, I had revved it up to 3k before I found out, but no knocking. Am I safe?????????? MOD is coming and I'm screwed. I'm gonna buy the full timing kit but I'm so scared. My car only had 84,000 original miles. This all happened because I fixed my ac and used it. It cause more strain on timing and I think that's how it jumped in the first place.

Using the AC had nothing to do with it jumping timing. You also cannot jump 1 1/2 teeth. Timing Belt was either worn, too tight or too loose.

If it jumped timing, it's probably because of a failing tensioner (or simply a failing belt) and it was going to happen anyway.

I'm not saying ac was the only cause, but it led to the jump sooner. My timing was probably wearing out already and using the ac wore it out even faster. You guys think my motor still good? I just ordered my timing kit. Like I said their was no knocking. When you use the ac, it adds a load to the belts and engine. My timing was probably always off but like I said, the ac contributed to a bigger jump.

Sounds like its just worn. The extra load on the motor may have brought it out but the ac didnt cause it. Probably a blessing. Put your new timing kit on and you should be ok. Just listen to the motor for a while after. If there is a problem you will know.

Since the AC is driven directly by the crankshaft and not on something driven by the timing belt, it had nothing to do with it jumping. If that's the original belt you're 24K miles overdue for a belt change.

Timing belt was changed right before I bought the car. Hopefully I get the parts before MOD and my motor wasn't damaged.

I just found out my parts won't come in until after MOD. If I redo timing and everything checks out good should I just take it to MOD and when I come back out the new parts in? My timing was always off now that I think about it because it had that camming idle sound.

Rotate the engine more, see if the marks get like this, dowel pins up, inline with cylinder head deck perfectly. Always rotate clockwise

Thanks, we rotated earlier. It ended up being a tooth and 1/2 off. What do you think?
