ok so finally after owning my talon for 2 months i was able to drive it for a whole day. now the car is leaking gas into the oil. i am going to check the compression when i get off work. i cant decide if i want to keep throwing money at this car or just part it out. i have wanted a dsm for years and this is the one im stuck with. i fell if i keep throwing money into fixing it, eventully im gonna have more into it than the car is worth. (probably pretty soon). i have did some searching and it says to check to see if the injector is stuck open. how can i test that? if that is the problem i will fix it becuase i have another set of injectors. if its the rings i think i will part it out.

Who hasn't dumped more money into their DSM than what they paid for it? I would check ignition first. If gas and oil are mixing the only place where they could mix is in the cylinder. I would even try some injector cleaner first and see if that works. Then replace them if it doesn't help...

I agree that it's either compression or something in your PCV system...like maybe you have the PCV line run to a catchcan and not to the IM. People are misled by catchcan ads and threads where folks say "well I do mine this way and it runs just fine" and then folks read this misinformation, disable their PCV system and end up with fuel in their oil.

I bought my 2g AWD for $21k (back in October, 1996). I've not yet put that much into it, but I will eventually.

first pull the spark plugs out and inspect them after you have tried cranking it a few times. if one them is black and wet with fuel then you have a injector stuck open and its overloading the cylinder with fuel to where its seeping past the rings and into the crankcase. if all are wet then you probably have a fuel pressure regulator stuck closed giving you way too much fuel all the time. if the plugs look fine then it could be a number of other things like compression(worn rings), faulty or misrouted pcv system. even a faulty MAF or ECM, but if it is the MAF or ECM than the plugs would be black and wet as well. really its the process of elimination and start in the order i listed above. good luck
