car idles high

I have a 1995 Talon Tsi with BS removed, and injen intake.. after a period of driving, the car will sometimes idle high as in between 1,200 to 2,000 RPMS, any suggestions of to why it would be doing this? thanks

Yeah, I have a 1G IM. Don't be distracted by the lettering or lack of MDP sensor on mine. The throttle cable bracket and it's location is the same on all of our manifolds.

I was able to locate it but I have not had time to actually loosen it I will do that when I have some spare time, but say it does not fully fix the problem, the BISS screw on a 2G where is that exactly located I found a screw that I believe matches the desc. but if someone could post a pic that'd be great thanks!

I had this same problem and it ended up to be the throttle body/cruise control cable that was stretched and seemed to stretch more when the car was hot after driving for a while.since then i put in a non cruise control cable and it fixed my problem

When you say the tb/cruise cable and replaced it with a non cruise whats the difference?

If you still have the ground cable that is bolted down there, try putting it somewhere else. I did that for mine and it fixed it. I heard sometimes that cable makes the bolt back out and allows the cable to slip and stick.

Sounds like it is worth a try, but where can I put the ground cable? I am not too sure where a ground is allowed to be put .

Basically anywhere there is a bolt on the engine where the cable wont interfere with anything else.

I tried loosening the cable but it still idles high when hot maybe i did not loosen it enough and i still have to try to move the ground but any other ideas what I should do?

Try removing your throttle body and cleaning it thoroughly with carb cleaner. Sometimes the oily mess that our EGR and PCV valves makes in our intake causes the throttle body to get sticky (unsure as to why only when hot.) I found a forum for the same thing on DSM talk when i was having the same problem, and that fixed it for me.
