I have a 98 Eclipse RS. Don't know what started these problems. But they happen about once a day.
I will give you today's story. Driving from Walmart to go get gas. Everything is running fine. Pull up, usually leave my ignition to the accessory click. Let my stereo play while I'm filling up. Get in my car and start it up. Then my battery light comes on and my deck shuts on and off repeatedly. The gauge cluster flashes to. As well as the RPM's jump around from 1300 to like 500. And also the temp gauge goes up. Right under the high mark.
But I have brand new coolant in it and my oil I just recently changed. My fans do come on. But you can feel the heat off the engine when you open the hood.
Well I left the station and I'm driving down the road. Get to 45 MPH and my seat belt light comes on and my car is beeping at me. This seatbelt light has never came on before. Even with my seat belt off.
Well I put it in to neutral coming up o a light and it goes away.
So now I'm outside my house. Just took out my subs and the wiring and cleaned the terminals on my battery.
All of the body grounds have been shaved down to metal.
Now I'm looking around the engine bay for other grounds and stuff that is corroded.
I have checked all of the wiring for my deck and everything is fine.
Opinions please?
