So yesterday i finally got done with a new wheel bearing and control arm and tie rod replacement on my laser and i started it up and took it for a spin to see if my wheel bearing noise went away and it did i was so happy because it was the last thing keeping me from getting my car inspected. So anyway i took it home parked it in my garage and then asked my sister if she wanted to take a ride so i could show her what ive done with car and then the car wouldn't start . Im so confused for all the months ive had it , it never hasn't started up . All i did before i started was put a little oil in it . Because it was low . So today i tried starting it again and it did start but than died super fast like if my maf was bad. When i crank the car i smell fuel so i thought there was no spark but then i bought new plugs and wires and still nothing . My question is how can the run perfectly fine one moment and then try to start it literary 4 minutes later and nothing?

Bad connection to the battery?
I pulled in for gas one night, everything was running fine, went inside and paid, came out and the car was dead no dash lights not even a click when i turned the key. Had to tow it and it ended up just being a bad connection

I had the same thing happen to me like 5 years ago! Drove to one of my buddys house to pick him up, shut the car off walked into his house...Came back out jumped in the car, and wouldn't start, cranked, and cranked and smelled like fuel... Put another ecu in it and, all was good! Something to try!

I would just start with the basics, possibly a bad connection somewhere as stated above. Could have battery, alternator, starter tested also. Then move on to processes of checking for fuel, spark, and timing. Do you have a haynes or chilton manual? That would be helpful to you.

Would the car shut off if i had really high oil pressure?

No, I get almost 100psi of oil pressure when I first start my car up, around 75- 100 for about 15 min or so, my car never shuts off!

well could this be a idle issue because i have put a new throotle body on the car and have not adjusted anything just slapped it on and the car started but maybe with the weather it could effect it , also how big of a boost leak would my car have to have for this to happen .

does anybody have this problem right after they drive there car one minute and then the next minute it doesnt drive

you'll need a friend for this:
have friend wear rubber gloves and preferably use rubber insulated pliers. use pliers to hold one of the plug wires with a spare plug hooked up to it grounded to the engine and crank the motor over to see if there is any spark. if you smell fuel it sounds like you flooded the engine. if there is spark but it doesnt start, pull out all the plugs and crank it over for a bit to air out any fuel in the cylinders and start again.

Hi there , today my car stopped running , well it starts and then dies exactly 2 seconds later and then every crank after it dies it wont start up unless i let it sit for like 5 minutes and then it will start up again but then dies exactly 2 seconds later and then every time try to start it after it dies i get no spark or fuel . Kind of confusing but what do the wise men think this could be? I'm thinking ECU or CAS but not sure.

1 . Car starts then dies exactly 2 seconds later
2 . try to crank it after it dies , doesn't start because I'm not getting fuel or spark
3 . Wait 5 minutes and crank it start but then dies again

This is the pastern , is there something that would control fuel and spark and make them shut off after exactly 2 seconds ?

Thank you,

I has a no start last week, turned out to be the ecu..If you have an extra one swap that in and see if that works..If not you could always pull the ecu and check inside for damage..

Can't be no spark or fuel cause it does start..

yes but after it does die i try to crank it while checking fuel and spark and i get none unless i let the car sit 5 minutes or so but then it starts but still dies and then im back were i started i dont get how fuel and spark can just stop working and start working.

My CTS sensor has been broken since i bought the car but it always has run.

Wise men?

Have you considered replacing your sensor?

Asking for "wisemen" is a good way NOT to get help. More often than not youll find helpful members posting. This is a community, try to hear everyones advice.

I know but i keep getting simple answers like check fuel and spark . I dont think it could be the sensor because i haven't had any no start problems the whole time it was missing in my car. No disrespect.

K also how bad of a boost leak would my car have to have to cause these problems because my friend blew his piping off on 46 pounds and his car still ran , it ran like crap but still made it to his house.

46 psi on what? Also, it depends on the the type of system is being used. I run speed density; I don't need any piping other than what has my IAT and MAP sensor reading from.

Any boost leak is a bad leak, some are worse than others. You can have many small leaks that will cause a huge lack of performance or starting issues or you could have some that don't do much at all until higher psi ratings. If you blow a pipe off of your car now, you'll be struggling to keep it alive and moving.
