car and lights surge' relay is clicking help

I go to start my car last night and a few dash lights come on very dimly. I get a jump car starts everything is cool until...

I disconnect jumper cables and hit the brake all the lights surge and the abs light comes on and i believe it was braking the car but i cant tell becasue the idle is also surging,

I thought it might be a relay becasue the tail light relay is clicking non stop.

I swapped it for another relay and it still clicks.

Car will just die doesnt seem to charge andy ideas?

Check your charging system. If it acted up when you took off the jumper cables, obviously there is a voltage problem.

Check the voltage at the battery sitting with everything off, while cranking, and again with the car running. If the voltage is below 12.6v sitting, charge the battery and check again. If the voltage is below 13.8v with the car running check the alternator fuse with a meter and if good have the alternator checked.

If both other voltages are good and the battery voltage dips below 9v or so while cranking replace the battery.
