MPI relay clicking

What would cause my relay to click after I shut down and remove the key? Leaky capacitors in the ECU?

Your ECU clicks when it shuts off a couple seconds after you turn off the car...are you sure it's not that? It's normal.

No, I'm quite sure it's the relay, I felt it firing when I opened up the right side tunnel. This sometimes goes on for 10 minutes or more. I believe it was responsible for draining my battery on more than one occasion last winter.

Im having the same problem but my car wont start that mpi box just clicks it will turn over but wont start. A few people have siad its the ecu but im not sure. i took it out and looked at it but it looks good. Also they say to check all wires for a hot wire grounded. Well let me know when u find out.

The only thing I can think of is a bad relay, bad ECU or a wire that is intermittently shorting.

can you tell by looking at the ecu if its bad. Can the caps leak and not show signs ???Orcan you tell???

If the caps are leaking you can usually tell by looking at them or smelling an awful rotten egg smell. Some people say they have sometimes heard arcing inside a bad ECU. Any of these is a sign of doom. But also be aware an ECU can be bad without any way to tell other than swapping with a good one.
