I have 2 wheel lugs that are seized to the wheel studs-the lugs just spin but won't come out(spent 7 hours trying to remove em')...is there anyway to get the lug and stud out of the rotor without torching my wheels or air chiseling them out? I've broken 2 sockets(1 thickwall) trying to snap the stud clean out....help? Need to get my wheels off to put in my new Raxles.
Thanx in advance

i'm not quite getting it, ur desciption is too confusing....

are the wheel lug nuts stuck to the studs and the studs are spinning or the wheel nuts are spinning on the studs????

I'f it's the second just rotate them for like and hour or so then try grbbing the wheel and just pull it out...

I'm also not 100% sure what's spinning - but try this. Have somebody pull on the wheel (kinda hard) while you are loosening the nuts. If the stud and/or lug nut is stripped that should allow you to get the nut off.

The studs are splined and pressed into the hub. He managed to strip either the splines on the stud or the hub or both so now when he trys to turn the lugs they just spin rather than thread.

Hoopy, your kind of screwed. Unless you have room to lift the brake caliper off the rotor and clear the inside of the rim or are willing to make a hole in your dust shields you can't get at the head of the stud on the back side to grind it off. If you have ABS the rotor is back there too. I'm not really sure you can get at the studs with the hub still attached to the wheel bearing and knuckle. You may have to split the lug nut.

drill the center of the lugnut, start with a small bit and work up to larger ones, eventually the nut will fall off. You won't damage anything that way. Most new studs you buy are bigger splined so you don't have that problem again.

Fixed...new studs and CV axles.
I got one out with a torch the next one with a titanium drill bit...i'll post pics of the studs, nuts ans wheels later.
Thanx for the help.
